RIsing Knights Rising Mustangs | Middle-High Transition Program

When Mounds View Public Schools asked us to create a video for their middle to high school transition program, we knew a generic welcome back promo wouldn't work. Parents and students look at this milestone through completely different lenses, so we built a strategy around two distinct cuts using the exact same footage:

🎬 The Community Cut: Designed to reassure anxious parents. We focused on the long-term support systems, resources, and the districts four-year cohort structure. It reframed the program from looking like traditional summer school into what it actually is—a launchpad for student potential.

🎬 The Student Cut: We stripped away the administrative speak and let the kids do the talking. This version focuses entirely on the raw peer experience. Real student voices open up about conquering fears, team-building at indoor skydiving, and learning the difference between fitting in and actually belonging. (Shown here)

Video isn't just about showing off a school facility or listing academic programs. It’s about building a bridge of empathy before day one even starts. It’s about letting a nervous kid know that on the other side of that fear is a massive adventure. By splitting the approach, the district was able to target the specific, unique worries of both audiences.
